Local Bands

Here at Out the Gap we like to highlight local talent that avail of our studios and practice spaces.  So lets get to it introducing another fantastic band from Killarney Conan’s Mob.

Conans Mob practice session in Killarney

Conan’s Mob are punk rock band hailing from Killarney. The band was formed when the guys were still in secondary school. They have struggled for years to get practice spaces.  The above picture was taken when they were practicing in a nightclub once a week this went on for nearly a year. They had to move the gear every time they needed to practice. Nightmare! Not any more thanks to us here at Out the Gap where  we provide sound proofed practice areas. The guys have now found a permanent  place  to practice. You can check out more about the band on their Facebook page

YouTube’s Birthday!!

Did you know that today YouTube is 10 YEARS OLD!

We here at Out the Gap could spend hours watching music videos and tours of amazing studios.  (a little too much time some might say!)

In honour of this momentous occasion here is a collection of some of the best music videos out there. Enjoy!

Local Bands

In this series of posts we will cast an eye on the local talent here in Killarney.  The town is buzzing with bands  from rock bands, trad , blues and folk to singer songwriters. There is a lot of talent out there. We here at Out The Gap  welcome many of these musicians to our studios for practice sessions and recording demos and EPs.  There is a brilliant community feel to our studios where musicians meet each other and develop links within the industry.  We try to help musicians in any way we can so please feel free to get in touch!

The first band we are going to highlight are called Rasher and  The Trainwrecks.

Rasher and The Trainwrecks playing at Courtney’s Bar Killarney

The band was formed in 2008 , when a local group of friends decided to form a band.  They play country,  folk, blues and rockabilly.  We are slightly biased here at Out The Gap as our manager Caoimhe is in the band! The band have been playing consistently for the past couple of years in bars around the country. They have been played on radio and have recorded two live E.ps the second of which was recorded here in Out The Gap studios.  The band uses our services regularly as it was their story that started the business in the first place! Check out their website for more information on upcoming gigs.

Here comes the summer!

This summer, Killarney is gearing up to be the music capital of Ireland! There are a wide range of festivals catering for different musical tastes. One of which is the Killarney festival  which promises to be an amazing weekend. The event is taking place in Killarney National Park which is just a stones throw away from us here at Out The Gap.
